The structure and building is beautiful and the location perfect. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds.
We were not satisfied with the staff and the standard of the different rooms varies significantly. Ours did not even have lamps on night tables

The hotel is beautiful but unfortunately the vibe changed greatly. The staff was accomodating but the beds not too comfortable. The pool and location are stellar however. We hesitated for a long time between Matilda and Casa Linda. Upon visiting both we would still opt for Casa Linda because of the location but Matilda is stellar. From the recommendation of locals the place to be at the moment is Casa Luna.

Excellent service if you need it
They promptly helped us switch rooms and even offered us a cozy sofa to rest on while our new suite was prepared. The ambiance of the hotel is good, surrounded by picturesque gardens and soothing fountains. We were lucky to enjoy spacious accommodations with an equipped kitchenette and a comfortable bed that ensured restful nights. The location is superb, just a couple of blocks from the main square.
The Wi-Fi didn't reach our room, a bit inconvenient. We had to rely on our mobile data instead. It would be wise to ask for a room with natural light next time, as some rooms lacked windows. While the immediate area is lovely, we did notice some noise from nearby establishments during the evenings.

Booked a room with great views of th ecathedral and mountains. Also, location was great and awesome, minute walk from a pastel pink church. We found it in a downtown area very close to so many wonderful shops and the restaurant and the central plaza.

Location, location, location....beautiful, inviting, simply charming boutique hotel...interior courtyard is just lovely with it's two fountains and garden setting - very tranquil. We had room #105. I would recommend the hotel highly if it were not for the fact....this room had no windows! Once we retired for the evening, there was no way of getting fresh air into the room. For security purposes, the two entry doors to the room had to be closed, since our bedroom was located on the first floor, in the courtyard where all the hotel 'traffic' passed. Although there was a fan located over the bed, it was still stuffy, not to mention claustrophobic.. Can't even imagine how hot the room must get when temperatures are on the warm side in San Miguel. I do not know if any of the other bedrooms have this same problem.....but I would strongly suggest this hotel figure out a solution for this beautiful bedroom.... In fairness to the hotel, we did not ask to be changed to a different room...By the time we returned to the hotel after the dinner - approximately 10:30 P.M., we found the front door locked. We rang a buzzer a couple of times before a gentleman opened the door. The really strange thing is, the hotel does not have a permanent sign outside the front door. They remove the sign each night for safe keeping when they lock the front door. Luckily, I know San Miguel very well, otherwise, I would have had a terrible time trying to 'find' our hotel! Btw, when we checked into the hotel, no one mentioned a thing about the front door locking after a certain time, or the removal of the hotel sign - I must say the removal of the sign each night is very odd!!!...hence the reason for giving the reception personnel such a low rating. The value for the money should be EXCELLENT...however once again, because the room was so warm and there was no way of allowing fresh air into the room while sleeping - I have to give the hotel a low rating in this area also.

Great stay with friends! The staff was super friendly, and transportation to the airport was hassle-free. We enjoyed the roof bar with fine views and the cozy atmosphere of the courtyard. Don't miss out on the nearby theatre for enjoyable performances and exploring local restaurants.
We did have a bit of an issue with the shower water pressure. It could have been better.

Dorian and Lilly's prompt assistance in switching my room due to noise exemplified their really good service. The staff were very good, even coordinating my laundry request after an unfortunate incident at a nearby restaurant. The shower had decent pressure, and the warm atmosphere created by the beautiful courtyard added to the overall comfort of the stay. The healthy dishes served were a good addition, showcasing an attention to quality and flavor.
